Northfield Library is more than just books

Did you know that the Northfield Public Library is more than just books?  They actually have events including

discussions and book clubs, film reviews and tutoring available to the public.  Here are some of the following

events for the month of September.  The Library is located at 1785 Orchard Lane in Northfield.  The Current Events

Roundatble will meet from a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on September 12 and 26.  Clue: A Myster Book Club led by Melissa Morgan

will discuss “The Button Man” by Brian Freemantle at 7:30 p.m. on September 12.  The Library District Lyric Opera

Lecture Series opens their season with a discussion of “Turandot” at 2 p.m. on September 10.  The lecture will be

given by Rochelle Klapman.  The Busy Moms Fiction Book Discussion will go over “Before You Know Kindness” by Chris

Bohajalian at 10:30 a.m. on September 22.  Popcorn and Movies Film Discussion led by Toby Nicholson will discuss

“Rear Window” at 2 p.m. on September 24.  The Notable Books Discussion Group will discuss “A Woman in Berlin: Eight

Weeks in the COnquered City” translated by Philip BOehm at 7:30 p.m. on September 25.  The Library also offers

“Jumpstart” a computer class for children and parents, that meets at 7:30 p.m. on September 19.  One-on-one tutoring

is available for the internet and on-line classes, and storytimes for children have begun on a regular basis

beginning the week of September 18.  Last but not least, there is a mother-daughter book club for girls ages 10-14

that meets from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on September 16, and will discuss “Becoming Naiomi Leon” by Pam Munoz Ryan.  No

Girls Allowed for boys fourth through sixth grade will meet from 10-10:30 a.m. on September 18 as a father-son
